Moven Mahachi

Moven Enock Mahachi (d. May 26, 2001) was a Zimbabwean politician. He was a close ally of Robert Mugabe within Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) and served as the Defence Minister in the cabinet. Before becoming Defence Minister, Mahachi served as Member of Parliament for Makoni West.
Moven Mahachi was killed on May 26, 2001, when his Range Rover came off the road. These events were considered suspicious by the people of Zimbabwe at the time, especially as Mahachi died exactly thirty days after another Member of Parliament, Border Gezi.
Mahachi was a kind and happy man during his life and had many friends in government and in and around his constituency.
Moven Mahachi was married and had several children at the time of his death. He was declared a National Hero by the Government of Zimbabwe and was buried in Heroes' Acre in Harare.
