[edit] WikiInterests
I mostly work to expand Wikipedia's coverage of roots music. Mostly I work on a varitety of Americana, including American folk music, blues, bluegrass, some country and some world music. Recently I have done this primarily through album articles and musician biographies.
I also keep a watch on a handful of science topics and work on these from time to time.
I haven't tried to push any of my contributions up to FA or even GA satus, and I'll be the first to admit that on the whole my work here is pretty mediocre. What I do looks boring to some, and doesn't attract barnstars, but at least none of my creations have been proded or nominated for deletion so far.
[edit] Works in progress
Whatever I'm doing here, I'm probably doing it slowly.
[edit] Missing albums
I've been working on articles for some of the albums listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/List of notable albums. I hope to bring these to some level respectable status: (last update 2/27/2007)
[edit] Favorite discographies
I'm also guilty of working on albums within the discographies of a few of my favorite artists. Someday I'll get around to improving their biographies too. I realize most editors would probably rather I would do that first, but the limited scope of album articles is easier to work on for now. Some of the artists in no particular order are Richard Shindell, Jonathan Byrd, John Gorka, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, etc.
[edit] Missing folk
There is a lot of notable folk music not covered on Wikipedia. I've been working on some ways to come up with a more systematic list of what we are missing. It will probably involve some combination of winners and nominees of various awards, who has been featured in depth in the major folk rags (e.g. Sing Out!, Dirty Linen, FRoots...) and other factors such as performance on the Folk Radio Ariplay Chart.
