Muneer Ahmad

Muneer Ahmad is an American lawyer and law professor.
Ahmad has been allowed to serve as a lawyer for Canadian Guantanamo Bay detainee Omar Khadr.
Ahmad has described various roadblocks the Pentagon has put in place that damage the ability of the detainee's lawyers to effectively provide legal assistance to their clients.
Ahmad has been critical of the qualifications of the John Merriam, the 31 year old military lawyer who was appointed to defend Khadr.
- "He is represented by a 31-year-old army captain who has never represented a defendant at trial in his life, even for charges of jaywalking, It would be laughable if the stakes weren't so high."
