Music wire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Music wire is a common high-carbon steel alloy used for spring manufacture. It is cold drawn and offers uniform tensile strength. Music wire springs are not recommended for applications where the temperature exceeds 121º C (250º F). Music Wire is highly magnetic.
For wire used in musical field see Piano wire. (The piano wire page also contains information on how 'Music Wire' is made, as the pages have become somewhat intertwined.)
