Mustafa el-Nahas Pasha

Mustafa el-Nahas Pasha (1876 - 1965) was an Egyptian politician. He was the leader of the Wafd party from 1927 to 1952 and seved as Prime Minister five times during this period. He was responsiblee for the signing of the 1936 Anglo-Egyptian Treaty. He later denounced the treaty in 1951. Anti-British riots led to his dismissal in January, 1952. After the military coup of 1952, he and his wife were imprisoned for a year. He retired to private life upon his release.
