Mustelus minicanis is a houndshark of the family Triakidae, found on the continental shelves of the tropical western central Atlantic from the coast of South America between Cape La Vela, Colombia and Rio Caribe, Venezuela, at depths of between 70 and 180 m. Its length is up to 48 cm.
Reproduction of striped smooth-hounds is Ovoviviparous.
