muvee is a brand name of an automatically created, music-driven video production, and a registered trademark of muvee Technologies Pte Ltd.
A muvee (pronounced ‘mew-vee’ and always written entirely in lowercase) is a music-driven video production created in seconds using sophisticated automatic editing technology. A muvee contains highlights of a user's video footage and/or pictures that are cut to the beat of the user's chosen music with synchronized transitions and style effects.

Terence Swee, a Singaporean electronics engineer and Pete Kellock, a Scotsman with a doctorate in electronic music met in 1999 at Kent Ridge Digital Labs, a tech incubator sponsored by the Singapore Government. Days after Kellock began work on the core of the auto-editing idea, Swee joined him and together they took it from concept to the first version released in September 2001.[1]

It is headquartered in Singapore and was founded by Pete Kellock and Terence Swee in 2001. muvee Technologies, Inc. is a subsidiary of muvee Technologies Pte Ltd, based in the United States. muvee Technologies manufactures and arranges a series of automatic video editing software products. The company’s flagship PC product is muvee autoProducer.

muvee introduced its flagship automatic video editing PC software, muvee autoProducer, for Microsoft Windows in 2001. Version 6 was announced on December 5, 2006.[2] muvee autoProducer lets users turn home movies or digital images into edited productions complete with music.[3] The basic product allows users to import video and pictures directly from their camera or PC, then add their own personal choice of music, choose a specific editing style and then make their muvee. Users can then save it on to their hard drive, email it, burn it to DVD in a variety of formats, or post it to a blog or website.

muveeStyles are production templates that are provided with muvee’s products. Each style contains a mix of effects and transitions that are applied to video and photos in sync to the music. Users can experiment with various styles to give their muvee a different look and feel.
