MX is a thrash metal band from São Paulo city, Brazil, formed around the beginning of the 80's and named because of the Soviet missile "MX", although of many say that is from a name used in the black magic ritual, Madre Xamã.
They were one of the most important bands from the final 80's in Brazil, and have 2 LP's, Simoniacal (1988) and Mental Slavery (1990), released on the defunct label Fucker.
They were the open acts in Brazil of the concerts of Testament in 1989, and Exodus in 1997.
Their sound, from Simoniacal to Again, was more close to the bay area thrash (althrough the vocals were close to death metal grunch), and in Last File was fitting with the post thrash.
After the release of Mental Slavery, they split up, but in 1997 they returned, releasing the EP Again and their final album Last File in 1999, spliting up again after this.
Recently, they are preparing the come back, with the re-releasing of their first two albuns, by the label Marquee Records.
