My Losing Season is an autobiographical novel published by Pat Conroy. It mainly deals with his senior season as the starting point guard on the basketball team of The Citadel, from 1966 - 1967. Conroy describes his tumultuous relationship with his coach, Mel Thompson, as well as the harsh, malevolent, male-dominated society of The Citadel as his hopes for a successful senior season quickly diminish.
