Mycos
I am a naturalist currently acting as a consultant in a joint UBC/BC Gov. Program launched to serve BC with an Emergency Hotline for Drug and Poison Control events. My emergency phone and email address have been placed on the NAMA (North American Mycological Association) Mushroom Poisoning Case Registry web-site[1], should a need arise for the quick identification of a potential toxic species.
I have spent my entire adult life training myself to ID plants and fungi, with the last decade or so attempting to delineate or integrate ecosystems showing promise as potential sites for flushes of a species that have gained either scientific notoriety or monetary value as a commercially harvested wild species. Toward that end, I would like to collaborate with a Forester or Forest Technologist in the development of a list of indicator plant species, mycorrhizae, their tree host and ultimately their placement on BGC maps either as microhanitats or larger zones-subzones showing potential predictability as a burn area that will fruit Morchella the following Spring.
