Hawke is the co-founder and operations officer of SpecOps Global Survival Training, which gives people a chance to test themselves physically and mentally by surviving in challenging outdoor environments.

Hawke has more than 20 years of combined military and government experience. He has served in the enlisted ranks of the U.S. Army Special Forces, was a U.S. Army Green Beret and a commissioned officer/government contractor overseas. He established and operated a Combat Medic School in Azerbaijan and a Combat Search & Rescue Program in Colombia. He most recently served in Afghanistan as a Commander of Mujahideen Militia against Taliban and Al-Qaeda Forces.

Hawke is best-known for his work in television and movies, often providing a survival expert when needed. He represented SpecOps on "MTV Road Rules" in 1999 on camera and in program development; he also was a consultant for the TV show "Fear Factor" in 2001. He also appeared in the 2006 movie "Dirty Sanchez" as Hawke. In 2006, he filmed an episode of the Discovery Channel's "I Shouldn't Be Alive: Science of Survival" in which he spent four days and three nights in the Amazon jungle, using his expertise at jungle survival to show numerous techniques for emergency survival in this kind of environment. The episode can be purchased as part of a box set at the Discovery Channel's [site]. The show did a great job of showing Hawke's personality, as well as his knowledge of survival techniques. Memorable quotes include: "You can't afford to be squeamish; the jungle's a pantry," "If you're feelin' fit, you might want to wrestle with this guy (holding a large anaconda)," "This is givin' me a big ol' happy face (when he finds a creek)," "It's jungle sushi for you."

In addition to being a military and survival expert, Hawke has made himself into a veritable expert on learning languages as well. He is fluent in English, has advanced knowledge of Russian and speaks Spanish, French, Turkish, Italian and Serbo-Croation at some level. He developed his own method for learning languages and wrote a book called ["Quick & Dirty Guide to Learning Languages, FAST"] under his pen name A.G. Hawke that promises to make readers functional in any foreign language in 7 days and proficient in 30.

Hawke is married to TV Presenter Ruth England. He has 3 sons and resides in the UK.
