Myopic crescent
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Myopic Crescent is a crescent-shaped feature that sometimes develops in the retina of myopic eyes, possibly due to stretching as the ocular globe elongates. In myopia that is no longer progressing, the crescent may be pretty much asymptomatic, though an ocular examination will reveal it.
Though the extent, shape, and exact position of the crescent vary, it is most likely partially to surround the optic disk, on the temporal side.
