Mystical Fighter is a beat 'em up game. The game itself is known by very few people. The story, designs, and characters are base on Japanese mythology. Like in most scrolling fighters, the player (who controls a kabuki) can use combos, flips and swings fight against tough opponents. There is also a timed limit usually about forty seconds for the player to finish the stage. Once the time reaches zero before the player passes the stage it would result in a defeat. Similar Ms Stump the player can special magic power, but instead of bottles player must manually pick up scrolls. The more scrolls is stack the stronger the magic will be, however if the player chooses to use the magic all scrolls will consumed.
This game is known in Japan as Maō Renjishi. Maō literally means demon king in Japanese.

Despite the time limit the player will spend most of the time mashing mainly the A and B button fight three to five opponents at in time. There are also hidden bonus stage that can be access if the player approach certain doors or rooms. These bonus stages depend on which level it is contains either magic scrolls or powers to increase the characters health bar. However the boss fight are easier than regular enemies. Also there are traps and holes that both the enemies could fall in if they are not careful. The traps and pits are do not always hinder the player, in fact it can be beneficial if the player throws an opponent directly into the pit.
