Location Murtizapur is a taluka place in akola district. it is 45 km. away from akola and 60 km away from amravati. it is situated on highway no 6 and also the centre for connecting four three districts viz. akola, amravati and washim. it also the junction of railway. it also has the oldest railway in the region namely 'Shakuntala' which travels from yeotmal to murtizapur, connecting the city to yeotmal district. Also parallel tain to achalpur taluka in amravati district, connecting to rural areaof amravati district. it also known as the city of saint GadgeBaba and Pundlik Maharaj.
