Nago (名護市; -shi Okinawan: Nagu) is a city located in Okinawa, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 57,551 and the density of 273.74 persons per km². The total area is 210.24 km².
The city was founded on August 1, 1970.
[edit] Ocean Expo 1975
In 1975, the World Exposition was held in Okinawa with a focus on the world's oceans. After the expo concluded, Ocean Expo Park was built on the site in Nago. Ocean Expo Park is the site of the Okinawa Churaumi (Beautiful Ocean - Okinawan language) Aquarium - one of Japan's largest and best - as well as other exhibits highlighting the island and its culture.
