Nahas Gideon Angula (born 1943) is the current Prime Minister of Namibia. He entered into office on March 21, 2005, when his appointment was announced by new president Hifikepunye Pohamba during the latter's inauguration.[1] He was previously minister of higher education, and was one of three candidates who sought the SWAPO ruling party's nomination as its presidential candidate in May 2004.[2] He came in third place and was therefore excluded from the second round of voting, in which Pohamba was victorious.[3]
