Natale Evola

Natale "Joe Diamond" Evola (February 22, 1907-August 28, 1973) was a New York mobster and succeeded founder Joseph Bonanno as head of the Bonanno crime family following his retirement during the late 1960s. Heavily involved in the trucking industry in New York's garment district, he cooperated with crime family leaders Vito Genovese and Carlo Gambino before his death on August 28, 1973.
Although identified by federal authorities at the Apalachin Meeting in 1957, he was charged along with twenty other organized figures for conspiracy however the case was later overturned. However, he would be charged with Genovese with conspiracy to violate narcotics laws two years later.
