At the March 29, 2007 JV Math League Team Competition in Kettle Moraine, Team 1337 took 2nd place of 16 teams, earning a trophy. Following were the Fighting Squirrels at 4th, the Kangaroos at 9th, and the Ninja Turtles at 13th. Team 1337 contained many of the same members as the trophy winning Squares, who placed 1st at both the first (Nathan Hale) and second Math Meets of the year. Math teams coach is the fabulous Mr. Jablonski (aliases including J and J-Bomb), Nathan Hale teacher of Geometry, Accelerated (Honors) Geometry, and AP Calculus.
March 31, 2007 the Nathan Hale Science Team competed in the State Science Olympiad. They placed 4th in Mystery Engineering and 6th in Designer Genes, also fighting valeintly and spectatularily in Robot Ramble, Health Science, Forensics, Sounds of Music, Experimental Design, Write It Do It, Five Star Science, Entymology (Formerly Don't Bug Me), Rocks & Minerals, Chem Lab, Food Science, Wright Stuff, Scrambler, Picture This, Fermi Questions, Oceonography, and Ecology, but defeated by the highly more science-focused schools in Madison, such as the much-hated Madison West. There coaches are Mrs. Getzel (a Science Olympiad veteran), Mrs. Xiong, and Mrs. Look for forensics. The co-captions of the 2006-2007 school year were Jackie Schultz (senior) and Andrew Chadbourn (junior, and more commonly known by his last name).
