Dr. Nathaniel Chisholm born 22 July 1963 in Tuskegee (Alabama) is known for fundamental research into nano materials and structural nanocomposites. His work includes the development of SiC nanophased carbon epoxy composite materials which could be used for space vehicles and structural grade components for advanced aircrafts. His landmark research Synthesis, Manufacturing, and Characterization of Nano-Phased Carbon/Epoxy Composites, is widely referenced and considered one of the most definitive publications on the subject of composite mateials. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and serves as the Vice Persident of Metro Atlanta American Public Works Association (APWA). In 1999-2005, he was awarded felllowship from the National Science Foundation and in 2004 received an award from the Scientific Research Society (Sigma Xi) for achievements in the field of Material Science and Engineering. Dr. Chisholm now serves as Deputy Director of Engineering and Production for DeKalb County Roads & Draiange Division Public Works.
