The parish of Saint Peter the Apostle in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is home to the National Shrine of Saint John Neumann.
Saint John Neumann was buried in the floor of the basement of this church in 1860. The baroque church that was built in 1843 and is at the corner of Fifth Street and Girard Avenue
Saint Peter's parish is the host of devotion to Saint John Neumann. The basement was converted to a chapel and the remains of the saint were placed under the altar in a glass case.
