Fair use
NCI_logo.gif falls under the fair use doctrine for United States' copyright laws. Although no other pictures of this kind appear within Wikipedia, the National Cancer Institute logo can be considered applicable to the prospects of fair use on the internet. For further reading on fair use and the internet, please refer to Kelly v. Arriba Soft Corporation (2003), which marked the first Supreme Court case involving copyright infringement of logos on the internet.
