[edit] Campus
The NSIT campus is located in Dwarka, in the South West of New Delhi. The campus itself is spread over 145 acres and is quite spacious. Upon entering the NSIT environs, one is treated to a brilliant display of the well designed institute structures surrounded by lush green, well-maintained lawns.
The Campus boasts of a spacious parking, ample space and facilities for various sports activities like basketball, football, table tennis, volleyball and cricket, as well as hostel accommodation facilities for both boys and girls. The institute buildings themselves are very well maintained and are a hallmark of architectural beauty. The classrooms and labs are well equipped with the latest laboratory equipment and teaching aids.
[edit] Admissions
Admissions to undergraduate courses in NSIT and DCE are conducted mainly through the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) of the University of Delhi and additionally using All India Enginering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CEE is for candidates passing from schools/institutes located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. They are eligible for 85% of the total seats. Outside Delhi candidates are admitted using the AIEEE and are eligible for the remaining 15% of the seats. The CEE is held on the 3rd or 4th Sunday of May every year. The results are declared within a span of 15-20 days. Around 90,000 students compete in CEE for a total of 440 seats.
The common counseling for the two institutes takes place after the exam and admission is awarded on basis of merit rank in each category (DG,DC,DT & DW) and OG,OC,OT & OW). In the recent past it has been the trend that most CEE toppers prefer to join Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology over Delhi College of Engineering (Always more than 40 out of top 50 merit holders in Delhi General Category in the last 10 years have chosen NSIT branches over DCE).
NSIT also offers courses in M.Tech. in Information Systems,Signal Processing and Process Control. Students for which are enrolled through G.A.T.E. exam conducted all over India by IIT Coordinating committee. These are purely merit based exams and only the best in India are able to secure admission to this prestigious institution.
Since the institute is a part of the University of Delhi and the Delhi (State) Govt. 85% intake is reserved for students graduating from schools in the Delhi N.C.R region. But Delhi is academically the most competitive education district in the country and the competition is fierce even after the reservations.

[edit] Campus Recruitment
NSIT students have ample opportunities when it comes to jobs, with myriad opportunities in various booming sectors of the economy. NSIT was ranked 5th amongst engineering colleges in India with regard to placements, according to a survey by DataQuest. This is largely attributed to the excellent performance of NSIT graduates in corporate organizations.
Typically, recruitment starts in the beginning of the final year for B.E. students, and by the end of the first month, over 95% of the batch is usually placed. Students often end up getting more than one placement offers(some even three to four) and then have the luxury of choosing their preferred employer.
In the recent past, companies recruiting from the NSIT campus include Schlumberger, Halliburton, Adobe Systems Inc., Aricent, Microsoft Inc., Google Inc., Yahoo Inc., Cisco Systems, IBM Inc., FreeScale Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, Conexant, Motorola Inc., Texas Instruments, Versata, Globallogic(formerly Induslogic), Inductis, Grail Research, Maruti Udyog, Honda etc. A sampling of the companies that regularly come to the campus for placements can be found here.
[edit] Graduate Studies after NSIT

NSIT has active student chapters of various well-recognised technical societies such as Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE),Society of Automotive Engineers(SAE), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society (ISA)and Computer Society of India (CSI).
Besides these, there are a host of other societies within the college which encourage students to join and contribute substantially to their overall development during college life. These include Crosslinks-the media management and students publications group, The Neighborhood Project (Social Service Club), The NSIT Quiz Club, the dramatics club,Crescendo-the music society, book club etc.
