Howling: New Moon Rising (also known as Howling VII: Mystery Woman) is a 1995 direct-to-video horror film, starring and directed by Clive Turner. It is the sixth and most recent sequel to the 1981 cult classic The Howling, directly succeeding Howling VI: The Freaks. Response to this film has been overwhelmingly bad, and the film occasionally been seen on the IMDb's Bottom 100 list. The biggest criticism of the film is that there are hardly any werewolves to be seen, and the few times when one is seen, its clearly obvious that it is an obvious Halloween mask. The "actors" are just simply locals living in the small desert town where this was filmed, who are basically playing themselves sitting around telling jokes and drinking beer. The underwhelming response to this straight to video release has since ended The Howling film series.
