Route 83 is a state highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is completely within Dennis Township, New Jersey, running from an intersection with Route 47 to an intersection with U.S. Route 9. Traffic on Route 83 is very light, however the state is reconstructing the intersection with Route 47 to include a traffic signal. A recent school bus accident has prompted the NJDOT to plan for a traffic signal at the awkward "Y" intersection of Route 83 and U.S. Route 9.[2]
