New Zealand Historic Places Trust

The New Zealand Historic Places Trust is a non-profit trust which advocates for the protection of heritage buildings in New Zealand. It was set up in 1954 by an Act of Parliament with a mission to "...promote the identification, protection, preservation and conservation of the historical and cultural heritage of New Zealand.".
It is governed by a Board of Trustees and a Māori Heritage Council. The national trust office is located in the Antrim House, Wellington, while regional and area offices are located in Kerikeri, Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
Buildings owned by the Trust include the Mission House, the Stone Store, and the Te Waimate mission house.
