Newcastle Number 1 Sports Ground

Newcastle Number 1 Sports Ground is a stadium located in Newcastle, New South Wales, and has a nominated capacity of approximately 20,000.
In recent years the ground has hosted 3 Australian domestic fixtures including pura cup games between NSW and W.A, NSW and Victoria, and an ING fixture against Tasmania. The highlight being a Dave Hussey double century to help Victoria chase down over 400 on the final day against NSW.
The final of the Newcastle District First Grade competition is played here annually, and is home to the lowly club Newcastle City. It has been a massive drought for Newcastle City whose recent attempts to sign Sajid Mahmood and Ashley Giles are unlikely to bring a premiership home. Giles and Mahmood have expressed their interest however the clubs second grade side is full.
