Talk:New Britain, Connecticut
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi -- This is a nice start on the Wikipedia entry for New Britain, Conn. There's nice section on the city's Polish community, but no real history about the city, no discussion of the city's other ethnic communities. I'll read up on on how Wikipedia operates and see about building this out some. If anyone is interested in contacting me, send an email. I wrote the 1989 book, New Britain, City of Invention. I can be reached at dcblogs@gmail.com
Update, July 10, 2006. I put in list of very straight forward books about New Britain's history to supplement what earlier reference that someone (I don't know whom) put in about Camp's history. All my work was deleted by whoever, but yet the reference to Capitol Lunch remains. Seems a little self-promoting. Aren't there other restaurants with long established roots in the city? Meadowlands? Romas? East Side?
- I don't know who removed the list, but I think that may have been done because it was out of place for the article. There may be a way to incorporate it in the form of a references section. As for the restaurants, feel free to edit the existing text and add more! Frankg 23:37, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
Polish Community section needs cleanup; it's POVed, with adresses of restaurants, shops etc.
[edit] neclecting the other New Britain
What is it with only talking about New Britain's polish community?
While large, they aren't the majority, Puerto Ricans are probably more populous in New Britian now.
And what is it with the KKK? They were far from a major part of the city's history.
WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE? WHAT ABOUT MR. WILLIE HALL?? HE PLAYED IN SUPER BOWL XI?? YOU PEOPLE ARE VERY DISRESPECTFUL. BUT OUR MOTHER RAISED ALL OF US BETTER THAN THAT.....
