Night Stalker is a great action shooting video game for the Intellivision console. You shoot robots and stuff. You start out in your bunker in the middle of the map equipped with a hand gun loaded with 6 bullets. When you need to reload, a gun icon flashes at 1 of 4 random locations. There are 6 different robots that you go through in accordance with your point total. There is a spider web located in the top left of the map with, surprisingly, a spider crawling around that you must kill or it can temporarily paralyze you while the robots are on the loose. In addition to spiders, there are bats flying around which can also paralyze you among contact with it. However, you only have to deal with the bats in the first 2 levels of robots.

The "Grey Robot" is the first robot you face. This robot takes 1 shot to destroy it. The second is the "Blue Robot", again a 1 shot kill does the job. The 3rd is the "weird googly gangly robot", this robot takes 3 shots to kill.
[edit] Dicey and Surprises
Here is where the game starts getting "dicey". The 4th robot, "The Black robot", takes 3 shots to kill and has a few surprises for you. The bullets this robot shoots can absorb your bullets, so you have to be selective, resourceful and strategic when using your very limited supply of ammunition. The 5th robot, again the black robot but with yellow bullets that can destroy your bunker!! You are no longer safe in your home and must use your skills and intuitiveness to dodge this menace.
[edit] Final Surprise
The name of the last robot reveals the final amazing surprise of the game. This robot is the "Invisible robot". Equipped with bullets as strong as the previous robot, the "invisible robot" is obviously hard to track. However, one thing you can do, in order to know the location of this robot, is too stay against a wall and the robot will shoot while on the other side of the wall (the other robots do this too, displaying their low AI). There are parts of the map where you can strategically shoot this robot and kill it quickly and cleanly, however, I will leave that for you too figure out. It's not all quick and easy though, the hard part is when you run out of bullets and have to travel to 1 of the 4 random spots that are outside of your "safe zone". Be wise.

Night Stalker was also released on the Atari 2600 under the name Dark Cavern. In order to compensate for lower resolution graphics, Dark Cavern featured faster game play and the ability to carry more bullets.
