[edit] Plot
A Vietnam veteran enters a diner to try and get a meal. During his stay there he narrates how he fled and abandoned his unit during the war and everytime he sleeps he dreams of one recurring nightmare which his unit "The Nightcrawlers" are hunting him down and trying to kill him. He was endowed with the power of mind over matter presumably because of the chemicals used to defoliate the jungles, and while in the diner makes things materialize like a steak on the grill. He was subsequently knocked unsconcious by the local sheriff who believed he was just a trouble maker. While he slept ghostlike soldiers materialize, destroy the diner where he is staying and eventually kill him, before vanishing again. We learn that there are four other vets with similar powers.
