[edit] photoshop tennis
Guess what? Just because you disagree with an edit doesn't mean you can try to claim its vandalism. Please see Wikipedia:Vandalism#What vandalism is not. If you try to label such things in that way then you are purposefully lying to try to prevail in an edit conflict. Please give it a rest. If you want info on this alleged Photoshop Tennis to stay, put it on Photoshop contest where it belongs. 216.165.158.7 06:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough, by lawyering your point, it is not "vandalism" per se, but rather falls under "stubbornness", and is disruptive regardless. My problem in this matter is in your unwillingness to discuss this, and your repeated redirection of the article is troublesome. If you really think that the article deserves to be redirected or merged into Photoshop contest, then please discuss it on the talk page, rather than unilaterally deciding that your own idea is necessarily the right decision. Redirecting may be the right decision, but your unwillingness to explain your reasoning in any way belies any support from me for the idea. I do not want to escalate this as a conflict, but rather bring it to a smooth, fair, and well-considered close as soon as possible. Please aid me in doing so, by discussing this reasonably. Always cool to meet a fellow DK member elsewhere. I've been watching the Photoshop Tennis page for a while now and am glad to voice my opinion. See you around! Metavida 22:12, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] harassment
Stop reverting my talk page to add comments already deleted. I already saw the comments and don'tneed them there. Furthermore, your warnings are merely the work of someone trying to use bullying and an improper understanding of Wikipedia policy to try to get your way when you can't prevail through actually using policies. Any further attempt to edit my talk page is completely pointless and only harassment. People who have insisted upon restoring their threats in the past on talk pages after they were removed by the owner have been blocked. Your comments are unwanted, unhelpful, against the way this site works, and show the actions of a petty, obnoxious individual demonstrating clear bad faith intentions. 216.165.158.7 16:16, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that you don't understand that I would much rather that you cooperate and not have to ask you to stop vandalizing, now both in terms of Photoshopping and your talk page. If you believe, as you just wrote in an edit summary at "Photoshopping", that this article should be redirected, you are free to discuss that on the talk page. A poll under way, however, has only votes to keep or even merge so far - you are completely ignoring that option, which says that you may discuss things reasonably and express an opinion, which will, by its merits, be supported by consensus. Instead, you have been, according to clearly-written definitions of vandalism, vandalizing the article and removing valid complaints against your actions on your talk page, a pattern usually reminiscent of trolls and other vandals. I am forced to report your actions on WP:AIV, which may result in you being blocked from editing. In addition, please assume good faith, ignore how annoying I may seem to you, and try to compromise - all things which I have extended to you, in ignoring your hostility, suggesting ways that you can fairly try to get what you want, and compromise my ideals for the article(s) in hopes of reaching some acceptable solution. To be blunt, you've crossed the line in accusing me of pettiness, obnoxiousness, and above all bad faith. Nihiltres 16:34, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Web colours
I like the idea of providing Commonwealth versions of template spelt in US English (& vice versa), however, there's a problem when it comes to spelling grey grey on Template:Web colours (I've made a shortcut). Aren't these supposed to be special code words (as opposed to simply being colour names)? The code word for grey is gray, grey just doesn't work. Jimp 17:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. I can test the code:
<font color=grey>Grey</font> <font color=gray>Gray</font>
- gives:
- Grey
- Gray
- Since both give me the desired color as far as I see, it's probably reasonable to assume that code allows for either spelling, and the template use is probably appropriate. I appreciate the concern, though - I hadn't thought of that. Nihiltres 18:04, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Now this is strange ...
<font color=gray>Gray</font>
gives me grey but for<font color=grey>Grey</font>
I'm getting green. - On the other hand:
- Now this is strange ...
-
- {| style="margin:0.5em auto; text-align: center;" class="toccolours"
- |-
- |style="background:gray; " width="5%"|gray
- |style="background:grey; " width="5%"|grey
- |}
-
- gives
-
-
gray grey
-
-
- How does this look to you? For me the second background is white. Jimp 18:51, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Interesting variation - I see grey for both. I suppose that Safari (v2.0.4, Mac OS 10.4.8) must support either spelling as a valid HTML colour. Assuming that not everyone's browser is happy with it, I suppose that it is a valid problem. Since that's the case, feel free to revert to the plain "gray" version.
