Nikolay Bogachyov (Russian: Николай Богачёв, born August 17, 1953) is a Russian entrepreneur and politician. He is the CEO of TambeyNefteGaz, current leader of Russian Conservative Party and part-time professor at High School of Economics of Russia.
Nikolay Bogachyov was born in Moscow, Russia on August 17, 1953. At the age of six he went with his father, reporter Vladimir Bogachyov to the United States and stayed there for 5 years. In 1992 he earned his first money by investing in oil and receiving $2,000,000 from that deal, but he did not stop after this and continued his business and political activities. What was next? Nikolay Bogachyov bought off several oil fields in West Siberia and consolidated them into Khanty Mansiysk Oil Corporation (KMOS). In 2003, the partners sold KMOS to Marathon Oil, which brought them about $300mln.In 1995 he has bought a port in Novorossisk and has become a CEO of Novorlesexport, a major wood transporting company. He recently has sold his shares to Kerria Oil for 800 million dollars. Novoroslesexport was indeed a profitable business, however not profitable enough for anyone who had ambition. After selling his wood transporting company, Bogachyov has started buying off natural gas fields all over Russia. Others were stunned by such move, for they have been ready to fight with Nikolay Vladimirovich over oil fields left, however just recently in 2003, they all understood his plan. Since then his name is known not only in Russia, but in all major oil industries through out the world. Shell Dutch, British Petroleum, Exxon and many more companies are buying shares of his newly created Tambeyneftegaz knowing that ut will take no more than a couple of years before Tambeyneftegaz will become the leading company in Russia in fuel, going ahead even of Gazprom itself. Currently Bogachyov has started a war with Gazprom bank officials. After Gazprom heard about the future of Tambeyneftegaz, the bank surveilenced Bogachyov's everyday life trying to buy out Tambeyneftegaz. But after a few meetings with gazprom officials, he, by his own free will, allocated them with twenty five percent of the total shares. To this day he still owns the majority of the stocks in Tambeyneftegaz.
