Nina Garcia

Nina Garcia, born in Colombia, South America, is the Fashion Director at ELLE magazine, as well as a judge on the Bravo reality television program Project Runway. As the Fashion Director of ELLE, Garcia works with a staff of about 20 editors and assistants to develop articles and layouts featuring new trends in fashion.
Garcia began her career in the fashion industry in the early 1990s. She worked in the public relations department for Perry Ellis and its then-designer, Marc Jacobs. She then moved to Mirabella magazine as Assistant Stylist and Market Editor, until taking a position at ELLE. She worked her way up the ranks until she became Fashion Director in 2000.[1]
On March 6, 2006 Garcia appeared on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch along with contestants from season 2 of Project Runway.
In October 2006, Garcia announced that she and her husband, David Conrod, are expecting their first child in March 2007.
Acording to People Magazine, Garcia gave birth to a boy, 7 lb., 6 oz. Lucas Alexander Conrod on March 24, 2007, [2]
