No Ripcord
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
No Ripcord is an online music and film magazine based in Sheffield, United Kingdom. The site was originally created in April 1999 by current editor David Coleman. The current version, which launched in October 2006, was designed by Peter Houghton and programmed by Gustav Tiger.
The primary focus of the site is record reviews and these concentrate on independent music, including electronic, hip hop and folk. There are active film review and feature sections. In December 2006, a regular podcast service was launched, which No Ripcord hopes to use as a platform for new independent artists.
The site's album review scores are used by Metacritic to compile weighted average scores for notable musical releases.
