Noah Lewis (born September 3, 1895 in Henning, Tennessee, died February 7, 1961) was an American jug band musician, generally known for playing the harmonica.
Lewis first gained attention for being able to play two harmonicas at once, one with his mouth, and the other with his nose. In 1916 he formed the Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers with Gus Cannon. In the 1920s they signed with Victor Records and had some success. However, he left in the 1930s as jug band music declined. Although he continued to do some work, most noteworthy being with Yank Rachell, he eventually faded out of the music world. He died in poverty of gangrene brought on by frostbite in Ripley, Tennessee in 1961. After his death, several of his songs become part of the repertoire of the Grateful Dead, including New, New Minglewood Blues, Viola Lee Blues, and Big Railroad Blues.
