nodelist is a social networking software that started July 2nd, 2005. It is still under heavy development and change at the time of writing and aiming for an GPL release in 2006.

The project's purpose is to provide a social software platform that is decentralized, unlike other sites on which you have to go to their respective websites to use, and have an account with them. The goal is to have a single account, that will run on a network of independently operated servers in different communities, and each will work with open protocols (OpenID, XMLRPC) to encourage interaction and integration with other sites.
