[edit] Introduction
Nokia announced in 2005 a new sub-brand called Nokia Nseries. It is a product family consisting mobile, multimedia computers. These devices support digital media services from the area of music, video, photography, games and Internet. They all connect to internet using high-speed wireless technologies being ideal for people who spend lot of time on the Internet.
[edit] Nseries Features
The Nokia Nseries is aimed at users looking to pack as many features as possible into one device. The better-than-average cameras often found on Nseries devices are one such example, as are the video and music playback and photo viewing capabilities of these devices, which resemble those of standalone portable media devices.
[edit] Nseries Operating Systems
The first Nseries device, the N70, utilised the older Symbian 8.1 OS. Subsequently Nokia switched to using the Symbian 9 OS for all later Nseries devices (except the N72, which was based off the N70), and it continues to do so at present, with the latest phones incorporating newer revisions of Symbian 9 that may include Feature Packs. The N800 internet tablet however operates on Maemo 3.0 Linux platform instead of Symbian.
