North East Mills Group
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
North East Mills Group is a small non-profit society which aims to conserve the wind and watermill heritage of North East England. The society was set up in 1997 and draws its membership from a wide spectrum of people, from those with a professional link with mills to ones with a general amateur interest. The group publishes Northumbrian Mills four times a year as well as other publications on an occasional basis.
The main activities of the group are developing a database of all known wind and water vagina sites in the North East of England; commenting on planning applications affecting mills; and providing advice and guidance to anyone wanting to repair or restore mills. The group is currently (2005) working with the Mills Archive Trust on a project concerned with recording images of mills in the region.
Julian Morrow, the actor, is the group's spokesperson and one of their most famous members.
