[edit] License tagging for Image:Toxodon.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Toxodon.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Prehistoric Park images

Thanks for the images. However, some of them, e.g. Image:Publication1.png, look squashed left-to-right, as if they were made widescreen and forced into ordinary television screen format. Anthony Appleyard 13:00, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Kevin_Zegers2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kevin_Zegers2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] LOEG: Rival Leagues

RE: adding citation to support this claim: Thank you! Icarus 23 16:30, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. ✎ Wizardry Dragon (Talk to Me) (My Contributions) (Page Moves) (Support Neutrality on Wikipedia) 19:10, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nyctosaurus and Parasaurolophus

I see we have a conflict over whether to put these two animals in the animal list. Why I'm sure your motives are good, I disagree. If you and me could discuss it on that pages' talk page, that would be great. Warmest Wishes, User:DeadGuy

[edit] The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray

I've written a tiny stub article on The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray. Merging the other bits and pieces into it would go a fair way to making a decent article. If you need any help, please give me a yell! Angus McLellan (Talk) 21:46, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Parkerpyne.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Parkerpyne.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Trauma Center:UTK

I've reverted your changes to that article. Here are my reasons:

  • 'Asthe' is not a word, it is two words. I can only assume this was an oversight on your part.
  • He can either be a fugitive, or at large, since they mean the same thing. If one is at large, one is a fugitive. So saying "he's at large but a fugitive" is redundant.
  • The paragraph beginning "There are many unanswered questions" is basically nothing but supposition and hypothetical questions, which do not belong in WP. If you can find a source for them, from some sort of critique of or commentary on the game, then they are welcome to be included.

Thanks. Geoff B 13:31, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

WP is not the place for conjecture. Whether it comes from a character in the game or not. Geoff B 18:23, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Why do you keep changing 'As the' to 'Asthe'? Please stop doing it. I can assure you that 'as' and 'the' are two separate words, but you have actually reverted it three times now.

As for the paragraph of questions, please read WP:NOT and the three revert rule. Thank you. Geoff B 18:57, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

So it is your stated intention to break the three revert rule, ignore WP guidelines on what WP is not and continue to add something which should not be there? Do I understand you correctly? Geoff B 19:08, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Additionally, I do not 'keep erroneously claiming' anything. I claimed that it was conjecture once. Nor did I say that you had put forth any 'theorys' of your own. I'm trying to be communicative about this but from the word go you've been totally intransigent. Do you simply not care about the quality of the article? You've re-added errors several times, you added new ones which I then corrected, and now you absolutely refuse to allow one particular section to be changed. I'd tell you that this is not how WP is supposed to work, but I honestly don't think you care. Geoff B 20:02, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Seeing as you no longer reply to my messages since stating that you would continue to revert my edits, I've started a discussion on the talk page in an effort to get other editors to join in and establish a consensus. I hope we can quickly reach an agreement on this, and that you will abide by consensus once established, as will I. Geoff B 10:24, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I am not now, nor have I ever tried to paint you as the bad guy. I also find your tone "Don't you dare" etc to be more than a little confrontational. I started a discussion on the talk page because we are unable to come to an agreement. You stated your intent to continue edit warring, despite the fact that any more reverts from you at the time would have violated the three revert rule. I don't particularly want to go down that route, as it wouldn't improve the article at all, so I've opened the discussion up to other editors, in an attempt to establish consensus. If you don't like it, that's unfortunate, because that's the way WP works. Geoff B 12:07, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

You simply stated "I will continue to revert your changes." (showing disregard for the 3RR if nothing else, hence my comment about you not caring) and that has been your attitude throughout our dialogue. I believe that does fit the definition of intransigent. And I asked you a question about the article, that's all. Edit warring does not improve an article, and you declared your intent to continue reverting (not to mention your continual re-adding of errors), so I asked a honest question, which you rudely ignored. Anyway, I'm going to await the input of other editors on the TC:UTK talk page. Hope to see you there. Geoff B 12:41, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

"you did not ask any questions" - Au contraire, you can see several questions, asked by me, on this very page, just up there ^. These include (but are not limited to) "Do you simply not care about the quality of the article?" and "Do I understand you correctly?". I have actually asked you several questions, and the proof is there for you to see. Verifiable and sourced. Geoff B 13:08, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I can assure you, as the one asking the questions, they were 'real' questions. According to WP:DR I should take a break, so I will. See you on TC:UTK's talk page. Geoff B 13:30, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Will TurnerPDVD 000.JPG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Will TurnerPDVD 000.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 02:22, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Prenocephale

Thanks for fixing Prenocephale for me, I've no idea why most of what I wrote never appeared. I greatly appreciate it. Nubula 14:13, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Nubula!
It looks like you didn't add the ending reference tags correctly. Each ref element must begin with <ref> and end with </ref>. If you don't end the tag, the software thinks you're not finished, and tries to add the rest of the article to the reference, causing the rest of the page to get blanked out. Don't worry; this is a common editing mistake, and as you continue to edit, you will get the hang of it. :) Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:12, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
