User:Numbuh3.14/List of ROBOTS! The Animated Series characters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ROBOTS! is one of the animated series on CFS (short for Children's Favorite Shows). The first episode aired on April 25, 2006 and the series finale aired on January 15, 2007. The series is similar in appearance to Transformers in that the primary characters include robots who can shapeshift to other forms, usually those of vehicles and other transportation, and a group of kids (normally referred to as "The Gang") who befriend the robots.

[edit] ROBOTS! Factions
There are two factions fighting it out for dominance in the animated series ROBOTS! These factions are the Automons (a shortening of the word "automaton", an alternate name for a robot) and the Trons (taken from the term "animatronic"). Both factions seek to find the mega-rare Collector Chips (this series' equivalent to the Mini-Cons of Transformers: Armada); the Collector Chips are sometimes referred to as Co-Chips, referencing not only a shortened name but also the cooperation that the robots must have with their Collector Chip.
[edit] Automons
The Automons are analogous to Transformers' Autobots (even the name is similar). Below is a list of major Automon characters.
[edit] Ancient Droids Belt and Drone
The Ancient Droids are just as their name suggests- robots who lived very long ago. They were responsible for sealing the deific menace Omnitron (from whom the current Trons are supposedly "descended") within three legendary items before the events of the series proper. They are mostly seen in flashbacks experienced by the Co-Chips, although these can come at unexpected (and sometimes unhelpful) times, such as when the Co-Chips are trying to help their masters fight the Trons. Though only two Ancient Droids, named Belt (reference to a conveyor belt on which robots are sometimes put together) and Drone (another name for an obedient robot, e.g. Battle Drone), have been seen, it has been implied by R-Vex that more existed at one point.
[edit] Data-Bank (DB)
The leader of the Automons' peaceful faction is the benevolent Data-Bank, affectionately called DB by his team. He collects data from all the Co-Chips that he and his followers discover, which he then stores in a large computer that can connect to his own CPU. This process is done through some kind of mechanical telepathy, with some help from DB's own Co-Chip (whose name is not known, but is called "TV-Jé" {"tee-VEE jay} by fans). DB sometimes calls the Co-Chip "Little Bro", but this is assumed to be part of his connection with the Co-Chip. In the three-part episode "Fusion", DB's Co-Chip was turned evil by Mecha-D (a fusion of Daniel and an evil Co-Chip) and is addressed by the villain as "D-Fusion" (a pun on diffusion and another reference to the 'D' in Daniel's name). After Mecha-D was defeated by the Automons and the Gang (though more thanks to the latter than the former), Data-Bank's Co-Chip returned to normal again, and its name, Stormer was finally revealed.
[edit] Monitor
Monitor is a highly-ranked Automon. He has a large screen on his chest (hence his name) which processes data that the Automons need. He is the most highly valued Automon in the eyes of the Automon leader, Data-Bank. Monitor's Collector Chip is called Rotator-X (or sometimes R-Vex) and allows the robot to become a powerful flying battleship-like machine.
[edit] Mega Ex 10-50
In the episode "Caves of Mechania", the Automons and the Gang explore the mysterious caves of an abandoned robot settlement named Mechania. While they find no Collector Chips, what they do find is a robot calling himself "Mega Ex 10-50". Mega Ex is an enigmatic character, given to making cryptic statements and referring to himself in past-tense third person. The Automons found Mega Ex already with his Co-Chip, De-Breaker, a recovery Co-Chip with a cocky attitude much like Mega Ex's (even though the Co-Chips, like the Mini-Cons, do not speak, they do display emotion through their very expressive facial features). De-Breaker helped Mega Ex save Chan's life when the latter was trapped in a cave-in caused by the Trons. After being recently paralyzed by Mecha-D, Mega Ex has started to lose power. The Automons and the rest of the Gang continue to try and find a cure for Mecha-D's spell before Mega Ex shuts down completely.
[edit] Redde
The hot-rodder Redde (pronounced like the word "red") is a super-fast Automoton who often takes the form of a motorbike (similar to Transformers character Hot Shot's alternate form). Redde was the first Automon that the Gang ever met, and he ended up rescuing them from their first near-encounter with the Tron Super Soldiers. Redde owns a Co-Chip named Mechanic (humorously named by Davey when suggesting an appropriate name for the Chip) who, like Redde, loves to race and, even more, loves to battle. In a fight, Redde will not take any prisoners and will defend his friends and himself to the end; Redde never worries about getting a scrape or two or losing a wheel here and there during battle, since Mechanic is always there to help repair him (as well as boost his speed and power levels like all Co-Chips).
[edit] Trons
On the opposite side from the peace-loving Automons are the destructive Trons. The Tron leader, Armaggeddon X, prefers not to give his individual soldiers names, but instead refers to them collectively as "Super Soldiers".
[edit] Armageddon X

The evil Armageddon X (Armageddon 10) is a force to be reckoned with. During the Trons' short tenure on the planet Mechanix (where the abandoned settlement of Mechania originated), Armageddon managed to procure the three most powerful weapons in the galaxy: the Energy Sword and the Collector Chips Di and Omni. Combining the sword with the Co-Chips created the ultimate weapon, the Omni Sword, which Armageddon uses in battle to completely overwhelm his foes. However, having lost these weapons to Omnitron when he tried to resurrect the ancient robot deity, Armageddon is now searching for a new way to eliminate the Automons. His latest plan was to create malevolent Co-Chips with minds of their own to enslave the Automons' human friends and turn them against the Automons. Daniel was the first to fall victim to this evil plot. After witnessing the defeat of the powerful Robo-Dragon and the subsequent capture of his subordinates, Armageddon X escaped with his second-in-command Alpha to plot revenge (although this unlikely to come about, as the series has been cancelled).
[edit] Alpha XI
Out of all of Armageddon's super soldiers, only three have names: Alpha XI, Gamma XII, and Omega XV. Alpha XI (also known as Alpha 11) is Armageddon X's top advisor. He also served a brief tenure as an assassin in the episode "Assassin", where Armageddon sent Alpha to destroy the Automon leader Data-Bank and bring Data-Bank's powerful Co-Chip (now known as "Stormer") to Armageddon X. Alpha XI owns the Co-Chip Tracker, having sotlen it off Redde when the Automons found Tracker at, appropriately, a racetrack. Tracker assists in locating Co-Chips when Alpha XI is sent to steal them. Alpha no longer owns Tracker due to the latter fusing to become part of the fusiom monster Robo-Dragon; after the Dragon's defeat, the Automons collected all the component Co-Chips including Tracker. Seeing this, Alpha escaped with his master Armageddon X to avoid capture by the Automons.
[edit] Gamma XII and Omega XV
Alongside Alpha XI at all times are his loyal cohorts (or obedient servants, you decide), Gamma XII and Omega XV. These two robots are never far apart, thanks to their Co-Chips.
- Gamma XII's Bio: Gamma XII (Gamma 12) is a muscular robot whose memory banks always seem to run on low; in other words, he's not that bright. When Alpha XI kidnapped Chan and Danny in "Those Darn Kids", he made the mistake of having Gamma XII look after them; as a result, the kids were allowed to wander freely around the Trons' homebase. When Armageddon X learned that Gamma XII had let the kids escape, he severely punished Alpha XI for his incompetence. Gamma XII possesses Nega, a Co-Chip with probably far more intelligence than its owner. Nega often puts itself in control when Gamma XII is on a mission to prevent Gamma XII from screwing up and incurring the wrath of Armageddon X.
- Omega XV: A sophiscated British-sounding robot, Omega XV (or Omega 15) is the only good role model for the super soldiers. Omega XV is usually put in charge of missions that he and Gamma XII go on together, although Omega XV's brilliant plans are always ruined in one way or another by Gamma XII's foolish actions. Omega XV owns Supra, a so-called super Co-Chip that gives him both intelligence and charm; however, the Co-Chip also possesses positive energy, forcing Omega XV to be accompanied by Gamma XII at all times (Supra exudes energy to keep the two working together, but not enough to get them stuck to each other).
[edit] Omnitron C

The true leader of the Trons, Omnitron C (a.k.a. Omnitron 100) is the ultimate Tron (his theme of ultimate power and his motifs are similar to those of Unicron, the ultimate villain of Transformers Armada). He was imprisoned by the Ancient Droids within three items (whose appearances resemble those of three of the Millennium items from the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise): the Power Cube (reference to Yami Yugi's Millennium Puzzle), the Energon Eye (reference to Pegasus' Millennium Eye), and the Enternet Staff (a pun on "internet" and a reference to Yami Marik's Millennium Staff). When these three items are collected and combined, the combination will unleash Omnitron. In the episode "Omnitron Reborn!", Armageddon X frees Omnitron to try and forge an alliance, but he and his followers are zapped into submission by the godlike Tron who then proceeded to systematically take out all the Automons, leaving only the Gang and the Co-Chips to save the day.
It is revealed in "Omnitron Reborn!" that the Co-Chips used by both the Trons and the Automons were produced by two separate parts of Omnitron: his emerald power source and his "battery" pack. The good Co-Chips, such as R-Vex and TV-Jé, were created by the "battery" pack, thus making it their destiny to join the Automons. On the other side, the Trons' Co-Chips such as Omni, Nega, and Supra, were created by Omnitron's power source, which emanates evil energy, thus making all the Co-Chips it produced evil and destined to join the Trons.
[edit] Tron Super Soldiers
The Super Soldiers have no individual names (as stated above); however, they are the most efficient and most obedient in Armageddon X's army. Armageddon has entrusted command of these super-troops to Alpha XI, and he has threatened to shut-down his advisor if at any time the Super Soldiers fail a mission. Thus Alpha XI is pressured to ensure the soldiers are always victorious, a task that is easier said than done when the Automons and "their blasted teamwork" interfere with Armageddon X's plans.
[edit] The Gang
The Gang is the name given to the humans who always accompany the Automons on their search for the Collector Chips (Co-Chips).
[edit] Anne and Andy
Anne Carmichael and her older brother Andrew (often just called Andy) are Chan, Daniel, and Amy's classmates at their high school (which is never seen). After the two accidentally saw the Automons on a Co-Chip hunting expedition while at a county fair (in the episode "Alpha Fights"), they decided to investigate their classmates' new mechanical friends. In the finale episode, the two children get caught up in the kids' and the Automons' battle with the evil Co-Chip fusion monster, Robo-Dragon. Andy helps lead the kids to victory alongside Stormer (who is leading the Co-Chips), after which the two kids decide to join the Gang.
[edit] Chan Vesco
Chan Vesco is a computer nerd who is obsessed with technology of any kind. She first learned of the Automons and the Trons when she and her friends met Redde the super-bike while they were out shopping (she for computer supplies). Since Chan is such a computer expert, she is often asked to help repair things around the Automon base.
[edit] Davey Rogue
Davey Rogue lives up to his last name. He is the outcast of the group, having been shunned from his last school for "being such a weirdo", as well as being banned from his house by his parents. When Davey met up with Chan, Danny, and Amy, he found meaning in his own life. He was overjoyed to meet the Automons and join their team to help defeat the evil Trons. Davey often makes jokes at other people's (and robots') expense, such as his joke about Redde's Co-Chip "Mechanic".
[edit] Daniel (Mecha-D) and Amanda Derrick
Mecha-D | ||||||||

Daniel Derrick and his older sister Amanda Derrick (usually just called Amy), despite being siblings, could not be more different. Daniel ("Danny", as his friends call him) loves adventure as much as his friend Davey, and Danny leapt at the opportunity to join the fight against the Trons. Danny's sister, however, is a clever strategist. Amy is sometimes called on by Data-Bank to lead missions, which she does with vigor. Her patience easily counteracts Danny's eagerness to jump into danger whenever it rears its head. In the episode "Fusion", when he ventures out on his own after an argument with Amy, Daniel encounters a rogue Co-Chip named Deceiver, which fuses to him (hence the episode title) and transforms him into Mecha-Daniel (Mecha-D for short), an evil cyborg version of Daniel. The strengths and weaknesses of this new form remain unknown, but Mecha-D has been shown to be much crueler and more sadistic than Daniel, disabling Mega Ex 10-50 and De-Breaker with an unknown paralysis spell and turning Data-Bank's Co-Chip into his own villanous minion. However, when the Automons confronted Armageddon, who he subsequently sent Mecha-D to fight them, Amanda succeeded in reaching out to the real Daniel and persuading him to fight Deceiver, returning him to normal.
[edit] Co-Chips
This is a list of Co-Chips who play a larger role in the plot than simply helping their masters.
[edit] Robo-Dragon
Not really a Co-Chip but a combination of them, the Robo-Dragon is a powerful entity (whose powers are on par with those of the robot god Omnitron) made by combining either all the good Co-Chips or all the evil Co-Chips. Depending on which Co-Chips are used, Robo-Dragon can be either good or evil; in the case of the ROBOTS! finale three-part episode "Metal Monsters", the Robo-Dragon was evil. Stormer, Data-Bank's Co-Chip (who had only recently been revived from a paralysis spell), led an army of Co-Chips against the evil Robo-Dragon. The Gang also joined in the fight, led by a new ally, Andrew (or Andy to his new friends), and eventually the Robo-Dragon was overpowered and defeated, releasing all the Co-Chips used to make it. After collecting the Co-Chips, the Automons thanked the kids and the two groups returned to base, with the former bringing the defeated Trons (minus Armageddon and Alpha) with them.
[edit] Shrinker
A "specialty" Co-Chip, Shrinker prides himself on his power to shrink to microscopic size. He is also the only known Co-Chip (other than DB's Co-Chip Stormer) to possess the ability to speak, as noted when Chan asked him where his Automon/Tron partner was and he replied "I got no partner! Deal with it!". He is very sassy, but was also instrumental in saving the world from Omnitron by "linking" to the robot deity's command center (i.e. his head) and shutting him down, sending them both falling into a pit of molten silver in Armageddon's homebase. It remains unknown whether or not Shrinker will reappear, but given where it was he fell into, his chances of surviving are very slim.
[edit] Stormer
Once a legendary hero on planet Mechanix, the Mechabot (precursor to the Automons) Stormer fell to Earth after the planet's destruction. He was found by Data-Bank, the Autmon leader, and made into DB's personal Co-Chip. At first, his name remained unknown, but after he was released from an evil spell cast on him by Mecha-D, he spoke for the first time, revealing both his name and his rather long history. He was formerly the leader of the Ancient Droids who trapped Omnitron, but he lost his position when the group disbanded after fulfilling their purpose.
