Denver Pyle

Denver Dell Pyle (Bethune, Colorado, 11 mei 1920 - Burbank, Californië, 25 december 1997) was een Amerikaans acteur, met name bekend geworden als Uncle Jesse in The Dukes of Hazzard, hoewel Pyle ook vele filmrollen vertolkte, waaronder in Bonnie and Clyde, The Man Who Shot Liberty Vance en Maverick. Gedurende zijn lange carrière, die eind jaren '40 al begon, speelde hij vooral westernrollen.

In 1997 overleed Pyle aan longkanker.

Twee weken voor zijn dood ontving hij een ster op de Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ondanks zijn vergevorderde ziekte, was hij in staat om de ceremonie bij te wonen.
