- red - presidential republics, full presidential system
- green - presidential republics, executive presidency linked to a parliament
- olive - presidential republics, semi-presidential system
- orange - parliamentary republics
- brown - republics whose constitutions grant only a single party the right to govern
Note that several states constitutionally deemed to be multiparty republics are broadly described by outsiders as authoritarian states. This chart aims to represent de jure form of government, not de facto degree of democracy. - rojo - república de sistema presidencial
- verde - república de presidencia ejecutiva dependiente del Parlamento
- oliva - república de sistema semipresidencial
- naranja - repúblicas de sistema parlamentario
- marrón - repúblicas con constituciones que sólo permite un partido único para el Gobierno.
Nota: hay muchos estados republicanos constitucionales que dicen ser multipartidistas pero generalmente por muchos estan descritos como estados autoritarios. Esta información es la proporcionada por el propio gobierno, no es ningún grando de facto de que puedan ser democráticos.
