Ryotaro Abe (Tokio, Japan, 1962) is een Japans componist en muziekpedagoog.

Zijn studie deed hij aan de Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Daar studeerde hij compositie en gradueerde in 1989 als Master of Music. Nu is hij professor compositie en muzikale analyse aan de Joetsu University of Education - Department of Music in Joetsu City, Prefectuur Niigata.
