[edit] Manga-related. May be worth adding.
The monster itself seems to be deeply connected with the fate of Egypt. When the civilization was in its heyday, Obelisk was covered in a brilliant layer of limestone bearing ornate designs, much like the pyramids were. Now that Egypt lay in ruins, Obelisk appears corroded and worn. Darnpenguin 14:44, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Effect Edit
I changed Obelisk's effect myself. As I said on the article, anime effects aren't really considered the card's de facto effect. I changed it according to the god card page which I believe is the most correct effect for the card. Although I'm not sure about the targeting effect immunity, I'll change it as soon as I find proof against it. 72.197.141.125 00:19, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm going to change Obelisk's effect. It does not gain infinite ATK normally, and I have proof.
O RLY? The manga denotes otherwise; the whole "Miracle brought forth by Anger" sugarcoat was added to prevent contradiction from a previous episode where Obelisk's effect was erroneously depicted. kthnxbai.69.181.76.212 20:28, 17 December 2006 (UTC)anonymous user
- just thought I'd remove "and cannot be destroyed," as it was indeed destroyed and sent to the graveyard multiple times throughout the course of the series. Femtay 21:14, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Femtay
