Obirin University

Obirin University 桜美林大学 is a private university in Machida, Tokyo, Japan. "Obirin" means "beautiful cherry orchard" in Japanese, and the university's name was derived from that of Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, which the university's founders attended [1]
[edit] Reconnaissance Japan Program
English-speaking foreign students may study for a semester or year at Obirin through the university's Reconnaissance Japan (RJ) program, which is run by Obirin's J.F. Oberlin Center for International Studies. In the RJ program, students take a Japanese language course (which can be tested out of) as well as English-language courses in Japanese culture [2]. During their study at Obirin, students may stay with a Japanese host family, live in a university-provided apartment, or find their own housing[3]. Obirin has a number of international partner academic institutions from which students are welcomed to study in the RJ program[4].
