OEAPI: Outlook Express Application Programming Interface is the name of a commercial library from Nektra that exports a Software Development Kit (SDK) to develop plugins in Microsoft Outlook Express. Unlike Outlook there is not official Microsoft-supported API for Outlook Express. A number of companies have produced products that provide access to Outlook Express.
Microsoft do provide an API for programming Outlook Express and Windows Mail. It is documented here [1] It has been around since atleast VS2005.
Only the storage of Outlook Express can be accessed through documented interfaces. OEAPI allows companies to create their own plugins for Outlook Express. OEAPI allows to add custom functions, interacting from high-level languages such as Visual Basic, Delphi and Python.
