Tomas O' Carthaigh is my name in Irish, in English: Thomas Carty. I write poetry, and have an intrest in cultures of small nations, computers and languages.
Politics
Ran as an independent for Birr Town Council in 1999 local elections, but was not elected.
Ran on an independent ticket, on a Socialist / Independent platform, and subsequent to the election, placed together the Proletariat Ireland website, and am organising a movement (slowly!) through the website.
Language
Have a deep intrest in but little ability in languages and dialects, and am a member of the www.Lowlands-L.net listserve, and have two websites www.TeangaNua.pro.ie for Irish modernisation and standardisation, as well as www.Ullans.pro.ie for integrating Ulster Scots language and culture into the culture of Irish nationalist / republican politics.
