Atty. Oliver "Oli" Ocol Lozano - (born May 13, 1940) The legal counsel of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and first senatorial candidate to file his certificate of candidacy. In his certificate, Marcos lawyer Oliver Lozano said he would be running under the banner of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, the ruling party during the Marcos regime. Lozano filed his form at 8:55 a.m. making him the first candidate to register his candidacy and he was followed minutes later by radio announcer and candidate Melchor Chavez, also a KBL member. Both Lozano and Chavez ran but lost in previous senatorial derbies. He was born in Ilocos Norte and currently married to Norma Junio.

It will be recalled that Lozano filed an impeachment complaint against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in June 2005 in connection with the President’s supposedly wiretapped conversations with former COMELEC commissioner Virgilio Garcillano.
