Operation Moon Water
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Operation Moon Water was a part of the clearance of naval mines from the Suez Canal in Operation Nimbus Moon, as required by the Camp David peace accord between Egypt and Israel.
The United States Navy trained and supervised Egyptian Navy divers who made a final sweep of the canal disposing of a huge number of explosives from hand grenades to at least one German bomb left from World War II.
The operation was completed by the end of July, 1975.
