Orange II

Orange II is a sailboat. It is a large catamaran designed for ocean racing, a "maxicat". The boat is 36.80m long and has a 45m mast. It is the fastest ocean-going sailing vessel in the world. It was designed by the Gilles Ollier Multiplast design team and built by the Multiplast yard in Vannes, France.
Orange II holds the 24-hour record with a distance of 766 nautical miles (1419km, 2006).
Orange II holds the around-the-world record with a time of 50 days, 16 hours, 20 minutes and 4 seconds (2005).
Orange II holds the transatlantic record with a time of 4 days, 8 hours, 23 minutes and 54 seconds (2006).
Orange II wass skippered by Frenchman Bruno Peyron.
