Oulu (constituency)

Oulu is a constituency represented in the Finnish Eduskunta (parliament). It covers the administrative regions of Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu, with a combined population of about 459,000 (as of 2002). Oulu currently elects 18 members of the Eduskunta.
The constituency is largely rural, and the major cities are Oulu and Kajaani. The dominant party in the 2003 election was the Centre, which won half of the available seats.
